this is not an account of my mad jewelry lust. it’s a seller feature, i swear.

February 16, 2009

i had been eyeing redpanda‘s stitch markers, which are lovely. i’m a knitter, and i’m trying to knit more hats, despite the comically-too-big nature of the hat i knit for k.  you can never have too many stitchmarkers.   if you’re not a knitter, just nod and smile and trust me on that one.

anyway.  today i was clicking stuff, as i do, and i saw gorgeous earrings by redpanda that i’d somehow overlooked due to my stitchmarker fixation.  i had to stop and stare, and then stare some more.  i was tempted to check the balance in my paypal account, but i have enough new earrings lately.  for now.

and then there was the necklace that matched.  oh, that necklace.  it’s even on sale.  but, well, i should be Sensible about money.   siiiigh.

and now i have an elaborate fantasy which involves my perfect black dress and Just The Right Shoes (as yet, unfound)…and that necklace, along with the matching earrings.  gorgeous.

you know how sometimes, you put on the right pieces of jewelry, with that lovely dress that’s incredibly flattering…and you feel stunning, and confident, and self-assured?   suddenly you can take on the world?  that feeling–that’s what would come with dressing accordingly and wearing that jewelry.  just for an evening, feeling unspeakably hot.  possibly with two t’s.

i just thought of the right shoes!  i’m going to have to be able to walk in heels to fulfill this fantasy, too.  hmm.

for now, i might just think about buying her stitchmarkers.  she’s the only seller on the jewelry on etsy team that makes them.

LOL, yes, been there done that, julia. To see something pretty like that and envision how hot I would be in it. Well, that was a long time ago though when I was young and pretty. Tried knitting and don’t like it because I was always losing the loops and then had to tear our all the way down to where it stopped running as I couldn’t get it to fix up any other way. Then went to crocheting. If I dropped a loop there, I just added another one in when I noticed. Noone else knew anything was wrong but me there. LOL
