about me

I’m Julia, a Chicagoan with a wide array of interests–in school I majored in Biochemistry.  I played violin for 20 years.  I love foreign languages, having dabbled in French, Spanish, and even some English (which is, in fact, my first language).  And I’m inseparable from my jewelry.  This blog is mostly about Etsy, where I love to buy as well as sell!

My earring designs are classic simplicity, embellished to keep them interesting.  My materials keep my designs pretty, affordable, and lightweight. I have the option of sterling silver earwires for people who prefer them–I know that I do!  Hypoallergenic surgical steel earwires are available as well.

I have always loved jewelry, and have been working with beads in different ways for several years now. I have a tendency to obsess over aesthetics, and find it to be great fun!

I wear jewelry constantly. I’ve always loved simple, comfortable jewelry that compliments a wide range of looks, and I feel naked without earrings!

A long time ago, someone commented to me that I always looked “put together”, and I was baffled. At the time, I was in college and didn’t have time to fuss over my appearance. What did she mean? It turned out that her impression of me was because of my jewelry. I was amazed at how much such a simple thing could affect others’ perceptions.

I have a second shop for knitting stitch markers which is a fun way to express tv and movie geekery–the stitch markers are made of letter beads that spell out movie and tv quotes, slang, and whatever customers want, really!

I’m always happy to do a custom order!
