I keep meaning to get back to blogging, but I seem to be continually distracted by shiny things.

This treasury that was on the front page last week–it’s the first time that my stitch markers have been on the front page! So exciting. And it’s such a great collection.

Ahpeele is a shop that has great screen printed T-shirts. One in particular (the one pictured above) has been on my favorites list for quite a while. i have been in a buying mood lately. i decided a while ago that maybe i should play with eye makeup from time to time. and then i realized that all my eye makeup is embarrassingly old, so i threw the stuff out. i knew just what i wanted to buy to replace the old stuff, because i’ve heard so many people rave about sweet libertine mineral makeup.

i just got my eye shadows in the mail–it applies well, doesn’t irritate my eyes, and has great pigmentation. since i’m not particularly adventurous with colors, i bought a range of neutrals to work with my brunette features:

it’ll be great fun to play with!

now i’m waiting in the mail for some lip balm from virtue natural. so excited to try her stuff!

i’m not posting about giveaways as much as i had been a while ago. i just don’t follow them or enter them as obsessively. but i still do love them, and when i come across one that seems worthwhile i enter, of course!

i have extremely dry skin, so i was interested to read this interview with sosae of virtuenatural. i took a look around her shop, and she has skincare stuff with great natural ingredients. the customer feedback is glowing, and i really want to try some things! like this–i’m a sucker for a good lip tint, and haven’t found one i’m really happy with. i might buy this and the facial scrub no matter what.

getting a new lease has had me thinking about my apartment. it’s just about perfect for me–small, but with lots of windows and beautiful views from the 12th floor. i’m not in the best of health, and i have a very quiet life. it makes an enormous difference for me to have such beauty in my surroundings. the windows connect me visually to a larger world.

i took this picture a long time ago. i was sick in bed and feeling really miserable. walking out of the bathroom, i was struck by the beauty. the sunset was spectacular, and my windows made it huge.

i won a $20 gift certificate for the the urchiness etsy shop back in december. she has gorgeous yarns and beautiful fiber, and since the GC was valid for a full year, i took my time ~~stalking~~ browsing her shop and mulling over the beautiful yarns. today this one caught my eye, and i just had to have it:

i bought it, and i’m so excited to get it in the mail! i’ve only knit with handspun once before, and i think it’s so amazingly beautiful.

it’s just the sort of color i used in my valentine’s day treasury. my color preferences are a bit predictable.

i’ve been featured in the spring+summer 2010 issue of knitty magazine. (i’m near the bottom of the “cool stuff” page…right under the droolworthy goat’s milk caramel. i am so tempted to buy some of that stuff!)

it’s so exciting! i’ve been really busy making sure i have lots in stock so i can keep up, because my shop has much more traffic than usual.

a recent customer sent me a product picture which i love–what a wonderful space invaders project!

things have been a bit crazy for me lately–i’m excited that my stitchmarkers are going to be featured in the upcoming issue of knitty magazine, and it’s a lot of work to stock up for such a big thing!

my hands are too sore from crimping to take on a new cabling project, but i thought i’d share this pattern link with knitters. the proceeds from the pattern sales go to medical expenses for a little girl’s chemo.

i just bought it and it looks really well written and thorough, with a chart, and sizing for kids or adults. it’s such a gorgeous hat–i love the way the decreases on top make a star.
